#119 Under The Sea

Julie is hosting our challenge today and she has chosen 'Under the Sea', so she would like you to create something with Mermaids, Turtles, Fish or other dwellers beneath the waves. Whichever you chose it should be a prominent part of the design and not just a small piece of seaweed or a tiny fish in one corner!

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with like-minded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art. Long may it continue!

Some inspiration from our DT

Julie

My image is by Aurora Wings and coloured with a mix of Copics and Prisma Pencils
the background was done with Adirondack re-inkers and shaving foam.

Viv
I chose to use a mermaid image coloured with Distress Inks

Josephine

I used an image from Josephine Wall's Enchanted Dreams CD Rom and combined it with one of the embellishments which I layered. I created the paper using colours from the image.

Jackie

I've been experimenting with ink misters recently, and one of my practice sheets looked perfect for an underwater location!  I used some digi images and rubber stamps to make the rest of the scene, and used a couture creations die to make the anchor.

Lin
I have stamped and coloured a Sweet Pea stamp with copics, promarkers and a white gel pen. The background is satin card embossed with an embossing folder and various dies to make a frame and water scene.

Vania

Kimx
I used a piece of background paper made using my Creative Palette and a lovely stamp set called Sea Life by Woodware. I also used Distress Inks to colour the image and added some medical gauze, Card Candi and acetate sea weed cut using a Dreamweaver Tree die.
